Human greed over centuries and "never having enough" has led the world to the point where it stands today: gaping at a resource-less future and fearing a posterity living in abject deprivation of the basic components of life: water, air, food...
Take what you need –Said Mother Nature. She had enough abundance for everyone’s need. But surely that wasn’t enough for everyone’s greed 😔
But What’s Sustainability gotta do with all THIS!??
Sustainability goes hand-in-hand with Minimalism. Minimalism was how Mother Nature intended it to be, it’s the only natural thing for humans to do.
I have been trying to be a minimalist for almost 5 years now and this has been the most difficult part of my personal sustainability journey so far 😞 It's an unbelievably SLOW process that demands time and constant introspection. YEARS of conditioning in consumerism sprinkled with socially celebrated hoarding are shackles that are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to break. But I am slowly getting there...or AM I?
The process of Minimalism is truly no different than a spiritual process- first comes ignorance where you thrive in a pool of EXCESS desires without ever realizing that you are drowning in it 😵
Then comes introduction from interacting with people who push you to take the right action.
Then comes the curiosity and hunger to know more. As you learn more and more, you come to the AWARENESS of the ginormous chaos all around you – The sickness of hoarding and stuffing our homes and lives till we have NO COMPASSION left for anybody else 😔
Then comes conscious action: Your life state expands, you are not willing to go back to that dark world of not knowing. Now you evaluate each and every choice that you made, discard discard discard… Obviously, when you are going through YEARS of Mess, it gets overwhelming. This is where I am RIGHT NOW in my Minimalism journey.
Unfortunately, this is an ongoing cycle: Sometimes we do great, sometimes not so much. The delusional world of material excess is a slippery one, it is paramount to distinguish between impulsive gratification and conscious choice...
Minimalism and Business
Does that mean we give up material pleasures and become ascetics? And what about business? Should we kiss profits bu-bye??!
Of course NOT!
What kind of a Copywriter would I be to promote Minimalism?? Isn't my main job to write copy that Sells MORE and brings HUGE profits to my clients???
Damn Right it is!
But WHO said that Minimalism was about deprivation? Because that is not what the game is about! Minimalism is about consciously choosing what enriches YOU 😊
FIRST, it demands you to be absolutely clear about who you truly are and what do you want to create in this world.
NEXT, it involves A LOT of introspection and decluttering from time to time, which is exhausting and time-consuming!
And FINALLY, it entails enormous Passion for what is left – the GOLD of your desires that has left all the impurities behind ✨
Don’t buy that fancy car just because every rich person has it! But if it fulfills your purpose or enriches your life in any way, go for it unapologetically. This conscious choosing makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE! 💪
So, when Elon Musk says that he does not own a house because he sees NO PURPOSE to it, but he does own a private jet because it helps him reduce his travel time, get to his destinations faster AND allows him extra work hours, I completely get it! 😎
AND, in the same stride, when as a Copywriter I promote Minimalism, I mean that:
👍 I write for businesses who put their heart and soul into their work and are looking for clients who truly value what they have to offer. 💪
👍 I go the extra mile to research and curate the perfect phrase for businesses whose goal is NOT TO MAKE A QUICK SALE but to provide products/services that would bring REAL CHANGE in the lives of their loyal customers. 💡
👍 I give my ALL to my words, for those who give their ALL to creating what they believe in. ✍️
So, if you are a business owner who wants to rise above the rest, who wants to reach out to their ideal customers, then I would love to be your voice. ❤️🙏
